8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
1 Corinthians 9:22
22 To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some.
32 You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Deuteronomy 6:4-8 New King James Version (NKJV)
4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.
6:7 teach them diligently to your children. The commandments were to be the subject of conversation, both inside and outside the home, from the beginning of the day to its end.(MacArthur Study Bible)
Notice the many videos; various reasons.
God’s instruction to the parents of the children of Israel was to “teach your children.” That process of instruction was, and is, an ongoing process. The law was given to the Jews in order for them to become a holy and righteous people, to bring a Holy and Righteous Messiah into the world. The importance of teaching our children has never been greater than it is now. At present time, there is a major discussion in the world as to whether the nation of Russia altered the outcome of the last presidential election in America.
The two provided videos, about these two countries, are from a humorous movie that was produced in 1966. It should provide food for thought in the minds of Americans, and of others around the world. As the video shows two Russian sailors going to the home of an American family, I will ask if any of you have had anyone from Russia approach you and tell you to vote for any presidential candidate. From my understanding, such intimidation of American voters did not happen. There is also discussion about the American vote being hacked. From my understanding, there was no possibility of such a hacking to take place, because the precinct votes were not placed on the internet. Also, with the American system of electing our president through the electoral college, the hacking of the American vote would have had to happen in every state, in every precinct. But, because no state put its vote tallies on the internet, such a hacking of our vote, can not happen, did not happen and will not happen..
Another matter of contention, is that the winner of our election “colluded with the Russians,” in an attempt to hack the election. Such an event has no basis for truth, because no American citizen, who is not a part of our government, has access to national secrets. The loser of the election had a lot of access to classified information, and was very careless in how she protected it. But, the winner had no access; he was just a business man who was seeking public office. With nothing to offer emissaries of other countries, such a non-government person, as was our current president, would be able to provide such spies with classified information in return for favors. To make it personal, if you or I were to seek the highest office in our land, we would not have access to classified information unless we were elected.
With that brief discussion on the news vs opinion of today, let me take you back to scripture. Our children are being exposed to a lot of opinion, which is being presented as news. News is something that, “has happened.” Opinion is a thought process which has no basis of truth until, and if, it is shown to be truth. Our children need to be taught the difference between “news and opinion.” We, as parents and grandparents, also need to understand the difference between news and opinion. We have a God-given command to teach our children, which will never end as long as we and they live. Our children need to know that there are five major “news(?)” networks that are passing along a lot of opinion, and presenting it as news. Teach your children the difference between news and opinion, and teach them the truth.
