The first Name for God that is shown in the Bible is Elohim. The Hebrew translation of God’s Holy Word shows very clearly that the first Name for God that is written in the Bible is “Elohim.” As will be seen in this post, the Strong’s reference number for Elohim is 430. See Genesis 1:1.
Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (God, Elohim, 430)
Elohim is: The All-Powerful Creator Of The Universe.
Elohim: Knows all, creates all, and is everywhere at all times.
Elohim is: The plural form of “El”. See verse 2.
Genesis 1:1-3 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. 3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”
Elohim is pronounced: el-o-HEEM.
Elohim, the plural word, is used as proof for the Trinity, per Genesis 1:26.
Genesis 1:26: “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
Genesis 1:1 shows God. Genesis 1:2 shows God in plural form. Genesis 1:26 shows the triune form of God.
