012115 – The Sabbath – Enjoy The Lord, Appreciate His Creation

Genesis 1:31-2:3 New King James Version (NKJV)

31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

2 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

This week has been very stressful for many of God’s people. The Sabbath came to my part of the world about four hours ago. Let’s take a load off of our mind, and enjoy the Lord, and appreciate His creation, whether it is of nature or people.

Consider the videos that follow; they tell us a lot about God’s creation. I won’t tell you how to enjoy your time of Sabbath; you can figure that one out. But, let’s consider a verse of scripture that tells how we can let our minds rest, regardless of the times and situations where we might find ourselves.

Philippians 4:4-9 King James Version (KJV)

4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

The videos progress from appreciation of our world, to a state that is special to me; to a light-hearted musical; to a special marching band.
