051714, The War In Afghanistan, John 15:13

John 15:13
New American Standard Bible (NASB)

13 Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Not a lot of news reporting is done on the war in Afghanistan. This has been a source of concern for our troops in that war-torn country. There is a need for letting our troops know that their country appreciates them. Holidays are times that we can let our troops know of our love and appreciation for them. This ministry has been directly involved during the last three years in sending cards to our troops in Afghanistan, via military chaplains. Planning is essential to sending cards and various care packages to the chaplains. Please let me know if you would like to become involved in this Matthew 25:40 ministry. Churches, civic organizations, schools, businesses, and individuals can take an active role in this greatly needed ministry. There was one Christmas season that this ministry was able to provide a coordinated effort that resulted in more than 2400 Christmas cards being sent to our troops in Afghanistan. We have helped to send Christian study materials, Bibles, blankets, toiletries, and snack items to our troops. Such acts of love and benevolence provide a way for Christian chaplains to extend that same love to members of other religions groups. A year ago, there was a need for blankets. One shipment of blankets arrived at a Chaplain’s office. Immediately, the blankets were given to a US Army helicopter medic who needed them right away. We have provided many bibles, some of which were give to coalition troops, Polish and Czech. Ranger chaplains have taken bibles to their troops who were in areas that were inaccessible during the frigid winter months. Our military forces in Afghanistan are our heroes of this time in the history of the USA, and of supporting coalition services. If you are interested in becoming involved in this ministry of spiritual and physical support, please let me know. In order to protect our troops, protective care must be taken, as we send support items to our military personnel. A reply to this post is the starting point. I will provide an email address where further planning will begin. Please consider the following videos that relate to the realities of the war in Afghanistan. Consider the ages of the troops that you will see in the videos. Consider how you will feel when you get your first “thank you letter” from one of our heroes. And, regardless of what the liberal members of our media and government may be telling us, there are very many members of the armed services who know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and unashamedly serve Him.

The following link will lead you to the total war casualties of the Afghanistan War. The names of our heroes are listed, along with the day that they gave their lives in support of freedom. Please pray for their families.
